Jorge Martin eyes Ducati promotion

Jorge Martin has admitted that he wants to ride for the factory Ducati team in MotoGP before too long, but if he can not he will assess his options.

Martin produced a stunning season in 2023 to take the title fight with Pecco Bagnaia right down to the final weekend in Valencia.

Indeed, he showed some phenomenal speed and resilience over the course of the campaign to remain in the fight with Pecco on the works Ducati, and many will surely have sat up and taken note over his performances.

For 2024, the Spaniard will once again ride for the satellite Pramac team, but it is clear that he has desires on representing the Bologna-based factory outfit before too long:

“My main goal is to go to Ducati,” he said. “But if I can’t, I’ll have to look for other options. Many factories are making great steps, so we’ll see which is the best option.”

Enea Bastianini is currently the owner of the other ride for Ducati alongside Bagnaia, and he’ll be keen to show that he deserves to maintain that position ahead of the likes of Martin with a 2024 campaign that sees him dodge the injury misfortune that stunted his 2023 campaign considerably.
